The Mediterranean Games
The first Mediterranean Games took place in 1951 in Alexandria, in Egypt.The founder of the Games and a cousin of King Farouk was Mr. Mohammed Taher, who at these first games, organised a competition between 743 athletes representing ten countries. The games are organised every four years under the aegis of the International Olympic Committee.
To date, the Principality has been represented eleven times:
