From 13th to 29th August 2004, the Olympic Games returned to Greece, the cradle of the Ancient Games but also the site of the first modern Olympic Games. 10.625 athletes representing 201 nations took part in the event. The total number of events on the programme was 301 (one more than in Sydney in 2000). For the first time, women’s wrestling appeared on the programme. |
For the 23rd time, the M.O.C. responded to the I.O.C.'s invitation by entering 3 athletes for the XXVIII Olympic Games organised in Athens.

Shooting: Fabienne Pasetti ranks 43rd in the women’s 10m air rifle event ;

Swimming: Jean-Laurent Ravera took part in the 2nd series of the 100m freestyle, in which he finished 7th beating his own record and ranking 62nd out of 71 entrants.
