The Mediterranean Games

 

 

The first Mediterranean Games took place in 1951 in Alexandria, in Egypt. The founder of the Games and a cousin of King Farouk was Mr. Mohammed Taher, who at these first games, organised a competition between 743 athletes representing ten countries. The games are organised every four years under the aegis of the International Olympic Committee.
